Commission proposes amending Constitution

Governors have the power to appoint Senators should untold events call for it. However our representatives in the House can only be replaced by special election according to the Constitution.

Gingrich and Foley, to name two, sit on a commission that want to change this so that governors can appoint these replacements as well.

I don't have a problem with that but I would like to know why Gingrich has his hand in so many things.
